0		do not make any relevant comments.
1		make comments which are not quite correct.
2	E.2a	make a relevant comment about the procedure used or the evidence obtained.
3		E4.a or E4.b
4 marks is roughly equivalent to a C grade
4	E.4a	comment on the quality of the evidence, identifying any anomalies.
4	E.4b	comment on the suitability of the procedure and, where appropriate, suggest changes to improve it.
5		E6.a or E6.b
6	E.6a	consider critically the reliability of the evidence and whether it is sufficient to support the conclusion, accounting for any anomalies.
6	E.6b	describe, in detail, further work to provide additional relevant evidence.
6 marks is equivalent to an A grade

Programme of Study Requirements

Candidates should be taught to:

consider anomalous data, giving reasons for rejecting or accepting them, and consider the reliability of data in terms of uncertainty of measurements and observations;
consider whether the evidence collected is sufficient to support any conclusions or interpretations made;
suggest improvements to the methods used;
suggest further investigations.
