Results

The experiment is so straightforward that there aren't any significant comments or observations that need to be made. The accuracy of the measurements is discussed in the evaluation.

These measurements were recorded at home. I used a piece of cotton and a small lump of blu-tack about 2cm in diameter. Another piece of blu-tack was used to suspend the cotton from the top of a door frame. This gives more than enough space to take the measurements.

For a stopwatch you should be able to find someone who has a digital watch, or failing this use your computer. With a bit of practice you should be able to time repeat results to within a couple of tenths of a second.

Your only experimental difficulties might arise if your cat starts to play with it.
